Friday {in focus} ~ The Same Road, Different Seasons

Have you ever noticed how the same road can look and be so different
based on the season of life you're in?

Thankfully, God is the same today as He was yesterday and will be tomorrow.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The Premio Dardos Award

~ A River Reflection ~

has blessed me with the Premio Dardos Award.
This award "acknowledges the values that every Blogger displays in their efforts to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values with each message they write."

I am honored to receive it.

And to pass it on to two blogs that I believe do the same.

Mary Denman. Despite the fact that she's one of my very best friends, Mary consistently shares her wonderful photography and encourages others to do the same.
She shares from her heart on Mondays, hoping to draw others near to Jesus. She gives photo tips on Fridays. I hope that you will check her out.

My second award goes to Laurie Wallin. If I ever need an uplifting message, I turn to her blog.
Laurie is a life coach and mother who knows the day-in and day-out issues we all struggle with.
Her blog is one that encourages, challenges, and brings hope.

I pray you'll visit the three bloggers listed here. They're beautiful women with a message to share.

Happy New Year!

Friday {in focus} ~ Adventure, Not Ease

As we enter into 2014, I challenge you to consider the words Mary DeMuth wrote in her book, Everything. "He created us for adventure, not ease."

Are you living a life of adventure, wondering what's around the next corner, pursuing paths not taken before, living and walking and breathing faith in God?

Or are you sitting back, watching the world go round, hoping to have enough to make ends meet and holding back a gift out of fear that you won't have enough for your own, waiting for God to show up?

Sometimes, we have to stand up, climb a mountain, run a race, go on a hunt, survive the rough waters, or just be still and know that God is who He claims to be.

We have to live a life of adventure. Not ease.

My family is starting this new year in the midst of an adventure.
We are moving for the third time in a twelve-month period.
My husband is starting a job with a company new to him.
I am in the throes of packing and wondering where the finances for the move will come from.
Longing to be with my husband, not miles apart.
And waiting in the hope of the Lord.
But working in faith that He will meet us as we put feet to our faith.
Once again.

Because

The goodness of God endures continually.
{Psalm 52:1b}
