Capitan Mountains, New Mexico

Heading Toward the Capitan Mountains, NM

First Stop & the Road Behind

Big Skies Over the Desert Ranges

Vic Checks Out the View

Miles & Miles of Barren Desert

White Knuckle Shot ~ We're on a Rocky Face of the Range

 Majestic Views

 Almost to the Top

We reached the center top of the mountain range.
Vic discovered later that where the towers are is 10,172 feet.
We drove it in our Yukon XL.
To say I had many white-knuckle moments would be an understatement...
but we were created for adventure, not ease, right?

  1. Beautiful! I'm thinking my knuckles might have moved from white to...I'm not sure what comes next, but I couldn't have gotten that close to that edge! Brave woman!

    1. At some points I thought my knuckles may lock in place, Tina. The last quarter mile or mile of the trail was almost more than I could handle. My poor husband...LOL.
