Happy National Trails Day!
We love hiking as a family.
It's a lot easier and we go more frequently now that our children are older.
Here, I've provided some tips for hiking with kids.
I hope you enjoy!
It's always good to know where you're going and how far it is round trip.
Offer a helping hand when needed.
Let kids use a hiking stick or large limb they find on the trail to help with balance.

Stop and rest when needed.
Bring plenty of water and snacks.
Watch for teachable moments along the way.
There's always plant and wildlife to learn about and observe.
Let the kids explore a bit.
Be sure you have enough daylight to pack out.
And remember that smaller children may wear out.
